I am really sorry because I am one day late in posting for this event, this is because I am celebrating Iedul Fitri (a religious moment for moslems). Nevertheless, I would like to participate in the event of blog action day and I really hope through this moment we could plan a better future for the world.

As an Indonesian living in Indonesia and had some experience living in a modern country in Europe, I really feel the difference regarding the condition of environment and the difference of attitude of the people towards creating a better environment. I believe Europe has people awareness to a better environment where a lot of people are concerned and participate without any instructions. While in Indonesia, people nowadays seem to have less concern or even none. In Indonesia, environmental awareness is not automatic, it has to be driven by some authorization such as the government.

I believe that the situation in Europe is probably initiated by the government and there are heavy restrictions in polluting. Although the same strategy could be applied in Indonesia, I guess Indonesian always have a way to break rules, hence pollution problems could never be solved and always reoccurring.

One way to create a better environment is creating a self awareness of the people. I trust that to create such thing, education is one important factor to build this. I think, there is nowadays there is less interest of this issue in Indonesian education system. If such thing is present probably it is initiated locally. Nevertheless, there is many hope that education can create awareness from the young students. To start such a program, the government should start to create program that could integrate environment education in the education system.

Although the result of such awareness could not be measured, but I believe, if every young student change their attitude towards the environment, slowly but surely, we can make a great impact in creating a better future.
