Last weekend (Saturday, 17 November 2007), Bandung, this capital of West Java Indonesia had a festival, called Bandung Blossom. This was to celebrate the birthday of Bandung (now is 197 years old).

Main roads of the city was filled with spectators and local citizens tourist to view a special parade participated by hundreds of flower decorated parade floats. Other participants was the city beloved football club “Persib”, marching band, traditional arts such as angklung and many more.

The spectacular event for some people was not so enjoyable since the festival felt a little bit unorganized, nevertheless this event will probably be a yearly event that should attract more tourism to Bandung.

On the other side, Bandung still has its classical problems, here is to name some them which are traffic jams, garbage and untidy drainage causing flooding (after heavy rain). Even now, the local people are outraged and scared by the presence of motorcycle gangster who are better off called as criminals by their behavior. Motor gangster such as brigez, xtc, moonraker are big names in the Bandung underworld. Maybe this city in the future can compete as the most dangerous city.
