failed GRE
Hi readers,
I’ve already done my GRE exam on 18th of February. The result was poor. Although I got a quantitative score of 620 (that is mathematics which was quite above average), I totally failed on the verbal reasoning where I got a 330. This score was far below average which was 400 and what I needed was a score of at least 500. In conclusion, I am not qualified for the PhD program at Auburn University, at least for the moment.
I plan to take again the GRE exam in the next three months. I want to at least achieve a score of 550 for the verbal reasoning and 700 for the quantitative.
I felt the verbal reasoning was too difficult for me, since I am not a native speaker and I hardly use strange and unfamiliar words in my vocabulary. I haven’t taken yet the international TOEFL but lets say if I compare it to IELTS test that I have took before, the verbal reasoning has a higher difficulty. If I want to be ready next time, I should be frequently practicing my vocabulary and of course my writing skills.
The quantitative reasoning was actually easy but I run short of time and sometimes I blind choose the answers. If I apply for the next test, I promise I can get a quantitative score of 700.
The GRE exam fee is not cheap for me (170 $), although I really don’t have much money, I would like another chance to take this test and try to spend another 170 $, if I fail again then maybe my wish to continue to US is only a dream.
So, for you who are planning to take the GRE tests, please be very well prepared, especially strengthen your vocabs!

Don’t be sad. You can take another exam. I think that you have to prepare hardly and smartly from now on.
I wish you passed next exam.

thx for the complement, but GRE is above standard English, its very hard for non native speakers to achieve success.
