This post is for people who are  interested in motorcycles development in Indonesia. Data showed that, Scooter tipe motorcycles accounted for 18 percent of the country’s total motorcycle sales in 2007, increasing from 12 percent a year earlier, while moped motorcycles have dominated sales for long. As we know the usage of new scooters (the matics) is just like a new hype in Indonesia (although lots of people used Vespa scooters since early history of Indonesia).

Just in the previous weeks, people in Indonesia have seen the new advertising campaign by Honda Motorcycles Indonesia to launch their new scooter. By using a silhouette of the motorcycle on the TV and paper media ads, lots of people are then curious about PT Astra Honda Motor (the Indonesian motorcycle unit of Japan’s Honda Motor Co. Ltd) latest move.

I understand that installing adsense codes on unsupported language blogs is not allowed. The consequence is getting a warning (or maybe even a ban).

The most you can do according to the official Google Adsense blog is installing a search box on Indonesian language blogs and affiliate banners/links. Other than that you will get a public service ads (which means no money - no earnings).

On the underground scene, a lot of Indonesian bloggers had already applied adsense codes on blogs and websites in Indonesian language. Even one of the most popular websites (in Indonesian language) is happy with a 4 digit earning/month by applying a modified adsense code.

Why isn’t there any reaction from Google? If Google approve Indonesian language it will be very nice but seems that only people who know the hidden technique that can benefit.

How is it done? How can you show ads other than PSA’s? It involves an addition to the existing script. This again is a violation to the adsense rules where codes are not allowed to be changed!

Actually I know the trick and I am applying it to one of my blogs, but I’m not ready for the bad consequences.

Anyway, maybe it is allowed by google because there is also advertisers in Indonesian language using adwords, targeting Indonesia.

At the end, its a fair game, google wins, publisher wins hopefully advertisers win also.

I was rather late to know that the government of Indonesia will promote tourism with an event of Visit Indonesia Year 2008. This event is the second promotion after the one held in 1992. The last time held, Indonesia earned nearly 20% increase of arrivals compared to the previous year.

In the previous years, Indonesia had a lot of publicity especially about natural disasters (earth quakes, volcano eruption, tsunamis etc.) and not to forget incidents such as the Bali bombings and etc. Tourists probably think twice before visiting Indonesia But I guess people who know Indonesia shouldn’t be worried.

Indonesia which has been popular as Dangerously Beautiful, really needs to revive again the tourism. A lot of local people are not aware that tourism can really boost the economy and creating multiplier effects. One of the big problem is, people of Indonesia doesn’t even care (this is different from not aware). Just for example lots of people still litter the environment, another example, the young generation here are not appreciating there own traditional culture (while culture should be one of the main attraction of Indonesia!).

Indonesia was once known for the hospitality and honest people, I believe these kind  of people are getting rare here. More people are money oriented and honesty comes with a price I don’t know if this is only my feelings, but its just my uncomfortable thought from a lot of life experience. (miserable me!).

If Year 2008 is to be Indonesian tourism year, our government have my homeworks to do!!! Come on is just one month more! I hope Indonesia first fix our International Airport. Just make it cleaner and make the visitor have a good impression.

Nevertheless, Indonesia, my beloved country, has many things to offer. Nice weather, Beautiful nature, rich and diverse culture, unique foods (for the culinary adventurers) and many more. I promise, the visit to Indonesia will be an advantage in every cent you spend here (coz everything is cheaper)
